Scotch Whisky Trail
Best of Scotland Holidays are offering a Whisky Tasting Tour of Scotland or as we call it, here in Scotland - A Whisky Trail.
Our Whisky Trail itinerary is detailed below
Day 1 Arrival into Inverness Airport. Depending on arrival time there is a possibility of visiting Dallas Dhu historic distillery. O'nt Inverness
Day 2 Speyside tour. Various distilleries including Tomatin, Glenfiddich, Glenlivit, Aberlour, and the excellent Gordon and Macphail whisky shop in Elgin. Suggest lunch at Craigellachie Hotel as they have a superb selection of malts in their whisky bar. O'nt Inverness
Day 3 Depart Inverness and journey south along the side of Loch Ness, possible visit to Urquhart Castle. Continue south, visiting Ben Nevis Distillery and Oban Distillery. O'nt Oban
Day 4 Day trip by ferry over to Mull. Visit Tobermory Distillery, home of the single malt Ledaig as well as Tobermory malts and blends. O'nt Tarbert
Day 5 Ferry to Islay, a very distinctive area for whisky. If taking the early ferry over, there will be time to visit the distilleries at the north of the Island including Bruichladdich. O'nt Islay
Day 6 Visit the remaining distilleries on Islay (there are currently seven distilleries producing malt on the island) O'nt Islay
Day 7 Return to the mainland. Visit the excellent whisky shop in Inveraray and Glengoyne Distillery en-route to Glasgow. O'nt Glasgow
Day 8 Return home.
